We supply exclusive, mainly hand-woven fabrics. These are made by local artisans in different parts of Africa. Our mission is to support these local artisans to keep traditional weaving techniques alive and also to provide local producers with an income. Most fabrics are available in limited quantities from stock.
We have extensive experience in working with local producers in countries such as Mali, DR. Congo, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Cameroon. Owner Ingrid Boellaard has been traveling through Africa for more than 25 years.
Ignoti adheres to the principles of Fair Trade and ensures that all producers are mature, that they are paid fairly and that they work under good working conditions.
Our products are available through our ETSY store (click the text on the right or the store front picture below to go to the ETSY store)
Our business was started because of our love for Africa. It’s not only the people, but also the nature and the wildlife that make this continent so unique. If you share our passion for wildlife, you may want to visit our photography site or see our pictures on ALAMY.
